1.1 million GRVT tokens burned ahead of Grvt 2.0

Grvt's foundation burned 1.1 million GRVT tokens in its first buyback, reducing supply by nearly 1%. The platform outlined four milestones leading to Grvt 2.0.

The discretionary repurchase removed close to 1% of the circulating token supply and comes before a series of four planned product releases leading up to Grvt 2.0.

The self-custodial trading platform Grvt, which is built on its own zero-knowledge (ZK) chain, said the Foundation’s token issuer had finished its first GRVT token buyback, buying and destroying 1.1 million GRVT tokens on the open market.

That purchase permanently eliminated nearly 1% of GRVT’s circulating supply as of that moment. It is the first of five milestones before the targeted debut of Grvt 2.0 at the end of November 2026.

Discretionary buyback with on-chain verification

The Foundation’s token issuer plans to perform additional buybacks each month. Every purchase is completely at the issuer’s discretion, with no set amount or fixed timetable.

An independent execution partner carries out the buybacks, transferring the bought tokens to a burn address and thereby removing them from circulation permanently.

The public buyback dashboard allows anyone to independently verify the transactions, showing the token amounts bought and burned, the share of circulating supply, total burns, and on-chain transaction hashes.

“The GRVT token is an important part of the ecosystem we are building,” said Hong, co-founder and CEO of Grvt. “We welcome the issuer’s buybacks as a demonstration of its long-term commitment to the ecosystem and community. Grvt is expanding its products and markets, and the issuer’s buybacks sit alongside that as a supportive mechanism aimed at reducing circulating token supply.”

Grvt sets out four product milestones

The buyback announcement came after GRVT’s token generation event in July 2026 and comes before a number of planned product launches.

Grvt Earn, scheduled for the end of October, will enable yield opportunities backed by tokenized fixed-income assets, with target yields reaching as high as 11%. Returns are anticipated to come from cash flows of the underlying assets, such as interest, premiums, and invoice-related income. The partners that supply the assets will be named at launch. No guarantee is attached to the target yields.

Stable Funding Perps, scheduled for November, will bring perpetual futures tied to commodities, equities, foreign exchange, and indices. The contracts are designed to have zero trading fees and to employ once-daily funding. Grvt’s target is to list over 1,000 markets by the end of December 2026.

Yield as Margin, also scheduled for November, will permit eligible Grvt Earn balances to back trading positions while still generating yield, subject to product terms and risk parameters.

Grvt 2.0, due at the end of November, will combine these features into a single self-custodial application, along with a new name, visual branding, and the firm’s 2027 development roadmap.

Tackling idle capital

The product expansion follows a survey of Grvt traders carried out earlier in 2026. Six in ten respondents said they kept at least a quarter of their capital idle on the platform, and many reported shifting money to other places to chase yields of 8% or more.

Grvt’s forthcoming products are intended to lessen the separation between earning yield and deploying capital for trading.

“Traders shouldn’t have to choose between putting their capital to work and keeping it ready to trade,” Hong said. “Grvt 2.0 is designed around a single self-custodial balance that can support both activities.”

Established in 2022, Grvt now offers perpetual futures on roughly 200 cryptocurrency and real-world asset markets.

The GRVT token was introduced in July 2026 and carries no ownership, profit or other economic rights.
