Early iPhone Duo screen crack reports follow launch; Apple shares slip about 1%
Early iPhone Duo buyers are seeing screens crack along the fold; Apple shares dipped about 1%, and the company says only a small number of devices are affected.
Asterium has introduced Apple Pay for eligible Visa and Mastercard cards, letting holders pay with iPhone and Apple Watch in stores, apps and on the web.
Apple Pay is now available to holders of qualifying Asterium Visa and Mastercard cards, giving them a simple, secure and private way to pay using iPhone and Apple Watch.
Uzbekistan-based Asterium, a licensed fintech ecosystem, has rolled out Apple Pay for eligible Visa and Mastercard cards available through Asterium Wallet. That makes it one of the country's first fintech companies to offer the service.
With iPhone and Apple Watch, owners of qualifying Asterium cards can tap to pay contactlessly at retailers that accept Apple Pay and the relevant card network. On compatible devices, they can also use Apple Pay for purchases in apps and online wherever it is supported.
The rollout broadens the payment choices available to holders of eligible Asterium cards, adding a convenient way to cover everyday purchases.
Asterium cardholders who are eligible can leave their physical card at home and still tap to pay with Apple Pay. When shopping in apps or on websites, they can complete checkout without entering their payment details over and over.
Apple Pay is built around security and privacy. If a customer uses an eligible card with Apple Pay, the merchant never sees the card's actual number. Face ID, Touch ID or a device passcode authenticates every transaction, each of which is tied to a unique security code.
Setting up Apple Pay takes little effort. On an iPhone, a customer can open the Wallet app, tap the Add button and follow the prompts to add a qualifying Asterium card. Additional verification may be required. Whether the service is available depends on card eligibility, device compatibility and the applicable card issuer terms.
Crypto assets are not processed by Apple Pay. If an eligible Asterium card transaction is funded from a supported crypto-asset balance, Asterium performs the conversion into fiat currency separately under the applicable terms. The card transaction is settled in fiat currency.
The rollout arrives as Uzbekistan keeps expanding its financial infrastructure and adopting internationally recognized technologies.
For Asterium, the step underlines a broader commitment to making modern financial services more accessible while supporting the country's transition toward a cashless economy.
By integrating globally familiar solutions into its ecosystem, Asterium is strengthening the link between Uzbekistan's evolving fintech sector and international standards of convenience, security and accessibility in finance.
Asterium operates as a fintech ecosystem based in Uzbekistan, offering services for crypto-asset operations and everyday financial management.
Its portfolio includes Asterium Wallet, crypto-asset exchange services, the AUZ tokenized gold product and other financial products. Licensed activities are conducted under the relevant licenses issued by the National Agency for Prospective Projects (NAPP) of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Transacting in crypto-assets is highly volatile and can lead to the complete loss of funds. The government does not guarantee crypto-assets, and Uzbekistan does not recognize them as legal tender.
Purchases with Asterium cards are settled by automatic conversion of crypto-assets into fiat currency. Know-your-customer (KYC) and anti-money-laundering (AML) checks are mandatory for anyone accessing products in the Asterium ecosystem.
*Dealings in crypto-assets come with significant risk, including the possibility of losing all funds or other assets handed over in exchange for crypto-assets because of price swings, technical faults or errors, or unlawful acts such as theft. These assets are not backed by the state and, unless applicable law provides otherwise, may not be used or accepted as payment in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Settlement for goods and services bought with Asterium cards is made in fiat currency through automatic conversion of crypto-assets. Products in the Asterium ecosystem can only be accessed after mandatory know-your-customer (KYC) procedures and applicable anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (AML/CFT) controls.
