Bitcoin fell below $81,000 on Thursday as oil surged and a Fed official signaled more rate hikes are likely.

Banks and credit unions are hurrying to bring bitcoin into their operations, and SALT Lending CEO Shawn Owen says the fear of missing out is genuine. In a conversation with Grace Remington and Sean Hagan, Owen argued that bitcoin works as pristine collateral, that its price swings are narrowing, and that institutions can no longer set it aside. He said the obstacles that had kept banks and registered investment advisors out of the market have now been removed.
