OKX Poll: US Crypto Investors Plan Bigger Allocations, Yet Cite a Respect Gap Versus Stocks
An OKX survey finds 55% of US crypto investors plan to increase allocations, but 42% say crypto wealth gets less social respect than stocks.
Bitcoin is again testing the $80,000 level as risk sentiment weakens, with weak rebounds and tech stock jitters threatening support.
Bitcoin bulls may soon discover how many times the $80,000 level can be tested before it breaks.
The cryptocurrency is once again sliding toward the crucial $80,000 mark as anxiety over risk assets rises. Although buyers have held the line, the weak bounces in the past week offer little reassurance.
Wall Street is also experiencing instability, with new worries about AI expenditure pressuring tech stocks before today's opening. Additionally, the Federal Reserve's decision and Warsh's press conference yesterday did little to encourage risk appetite.
Given Bitcoin's known responsiveness to risk sentiment, its current difficulties are unsurprising. However, the bigger issue extends beyond its tie to tech stocks. Traders are asking how many more times the $80,000 floor can be probed before buyers give up.
Bitcoin is once again testing the $80,000 level today, highlighting the persistent pressure.
Buyers have attempted to defend this level, but the bounces have been unconvincing. This suggests not a solid hold of support but a market nervously circling a key floor.
For now, the larger bullish structure remains intact. However, upside momentum has notably slowed after the climb to $87,000 in September and again earlier this month.
A decisive break below $80,000 could reveal further vulnerabilities. The next support zones to watch are around $76,000 and then the September lows just below $75,000, after which a deeper retreat toward $70,000 could come into play.
The larger recovery structure is still intact, though just barely. But Bitcoin appears to be running out of space to keep testing buyers' patience.
Currently, Bitcoin behaves less like digital gold and more like a high-beta version of the Nasdaq. As long as that holds, any tech mood swing will keep crypto traders nervous.
