Main points

  • Bitcoin changed hands at roughly $81,593, a level above its 50-day EMA of $80,878.
  • The RSI for Bitcoin is hovering near 47, and the MACD remains slightly in negative territory, pointing to weak recovery momentum.
  • Resistance is seen at $85,000 for BTC, with additional support levels placed at $77,528 and $76,186.

Crypto prices stabilize after support tests

On Friday, Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP ticked up following the prior session's decline, which had pushed all three towards crucial technical support thresholds.

Bitcoin held near its 50-day Exponential Moving Average, Ethereum found a floor around its 100-day EMA, and XRP kept its level near $1.300.

This mild upswing points to continued buying interest at those levels. Still, the bounce-back rests on those supports holding firm; decisive closes beneath them could trigger a more substantial downturn.

Bitcoin holds its 50-Day EMA

Bitcoin's Friday trading saw it around $81,856, keeping it above its 50-day EMA at $80,878.

Maintaining that average improves an already supportive technical backdrop, despite the consolidation of recent days. The 100-day EMA of $77,528 and the 200-day EMA of $76,186 both sit below the current price, lending extra support to the broader trend.

The momentum indicators give weaker grounds for a rapid rally. The RSI stands around 46, just under the neutral 50 mark, implying buyers still lack a decisive grip. The MACD concurrently stays in a slightly negative position.

These combined signals show stabilization, not a confirmed shift to bullish territory. The main resistance lies at $85,000, an area where previous sell-offs could hold back any bounce-back.

Whether buyers can push beyond Friday's rebound will be tested by a move toward that level. A more sustained rise would depend on significantly greater momentum.

Bitcoin remains vulnerable to more consolidation until that happens, with buying at lower prices contending against selling from above.

Downside attention centres on the 50-day EMA at $80,878. A daily close decisively below that level would hurt the recovery and draw focus to the 100-day EMA at $77,528. Sustained sell-offs could then expose the 200-day EMA at $76,186.
