OranjeBTC CEO Gui Gomes discusses Brazil's first Bitcoin-backed loan, new regulations, and how each step moves Bitcoin toward reserve-currency status.
Bitcoin is “likely the best collateral one could ask for,” in the view of Gui Gomes, chief executive of OranjeBTC. Gomes walks through the ways digital credit, loans backed by Bitcoin, and other new products are embedding Bitcoin more deeply in global capital markets. He points to a Brazilian first among those advances: a Bitcoin-backed loan unlike any before it. Every step, he argues, takes Bitcoin closer to becoming the world’s reserve currency.
The discussion starts with Gomes on how the strategy playbook is being used across Latin America and why Brazil ranks No. 1 in grassroots Bitcoin adoption. He goes on to explain Brazil’s advantages for a Bitcoin treasury firm, its new Bitcoin regulations and VASP licensing, and the election trend toward a more pro-market economy. Lower interest rates, the real, and Brazil’s next growth phase are discussed, as are ways global investors can buy OranjeBTC shares. DIGI11 comes up in connection with bringing STRC and SATA to Brazilian investors, and with how it paid out its first dividend. Bitcoin as collateral and the future of digital credit round out the discussion.
