On July 6, Elon Musk’s AI business rebranded as SpaceXAI. Now, 90 days later, Musk indicates that name is to be changed.

The new intended name is SpaceXSI. The SI stands for Super Intelligence, a term President Donald Trump is now encouraging federal agencies to use in place of AI.

Three X Posts Started the SpaceXAI Rebranding

It all began with three brief messages. “No more AI,” Musk posted early Sunday. Then “SI.” Then “It’s better.”

Musk also referred to SpaceX as “a super intelligence company.”

Notably, other aspects remain unchanged. The website and social media accounts still display SpaceXAI as of now. No date or legal name adjustment has been mentioned.

Musk Signed Trump’s AI Pact Five Days Before Announcing “No More AI”

Washington acted first. On September 29, Trump issued an order directing federal departments to substitute AI with SI in correspondence, reports, and websites.

The language is unequivocal.

“…the executive branch… will not acknowledge the usage of “Artificial Intelligence” and “AI” in any applicable setting,” read an excerpt in the White House order.

The White House contends that “artificial” makes the technology seem like a replica of human cognition.

That same day, Musk signed a voluntary safety agreement at the White House. The CEOs of Nvidia, Google, OpenAI, Meta, and Anthropic signed as well.

BeInCrypto was early to note the change. On September 29, Polymarket traders estimated a 53% chance that the AI rename would occur by September 30. Polymarket is a platform for betting on events. Trump signed the order on that day.

Stock market investors now have a share in this brand as well. SpaceX listed on Nasdaq as SPCX on June 12, raising $75 billion and achieving a $1.77 trillion valuation.

Its AI division develops Grok, the chatbot integrated into X. This year it transitioned from xAI to SpaceXAI. SpaceXSI would be the third name in its history.

The next deadline is late November. By then, Trump’s science advisor must propose a law defining Super Intelligence.
