Hong Kong FinTech Week 2026 announced speakers and program details for Nov 2-6.
The Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau together with Invest Hong Kong disclosed programme details for Hong Kong FinTech Week x StartmeupHK 2026 during a press conference held on Oct. 23. The conference runs from Nov. 2 to Nov. 6 in Hong Kong, with organisers expecting over 45,000 attendees from more than 120 countries.
The event coincides with the roll-out of the National 15th Five-Year Plan and Hong Kong's First Five-Year Plan covering 2026–2030. According to the organisers, the gathering will focus on financial empowerment, technological innovation and international expansion. It is being put together by the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau, the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau and Invest Hong Kong.
In the latest Global Financial Centres Index, Hong Kong ranked first for fintech, the organisers noted. The "Finance+" concept leverages the city's capital markets and global links, combining financial capital with technology to expand innovation. Christopher Hui, secretary for financial services and the treasury, stated that this year's theme is “Fintech Nexus: Bridging the World, Building the Future.” He also said the event will demonstrate how Hong Kong's fintech strengths are advancing the city's growth in gold and commodity markets.
The organisers said Hong Kong is pushing forward an “AI+” initiative to integrate artificial intelligence across various sectors, and the city is home to more than 5,200 startups. The Global Fast Track programme, designed to accelerate high-growth startups and scale-ups, has attracted over 700 applicants from Asia, Europe, North America, the Middle East, Africa and Oceania.
Alpha Lau, director-general of investment promotion, commented that the three engines of Finance+, AI+ and global expansion “reflect the city’s strategic priorities: driving innovation and economic development, transforming industries, and enabling multi-market growth.”
More than 30 delegations from mainland China, including from Beijing and Shenzhen, will attend the event, along with delegations from North America, Europe, the Gulf Cooperation Council region and Central Asia, among others.
The main conference is scheduled for Nov. 2-3 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. It will feature 10 forums such as the AI & DeepTech Forum, the Digital Assets and Web3 Forum and the AI in Finance Forum. Speakers listed include Chief Executive John Lee, Hong Kong Monetary Authority Chief Executive Eddie Yue, Securities and Futures Commission CEO Julia Leung, United Kingdom Financial Conduct Authority Chair Ashley Alder, Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority Chairman Bilal Bin Saqib and Franklin Templeton CEO Jenny Johnson. Additional activities include networking, business matching and community events across Hong Kong and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, as well as a two-day executive tour to Shenzhen.
Hong Kong FinTech Week x StartmeupHK is a combined fintech and startup event based in Hong Kong. The first Hong Kong FinTech Week took place in 2016. The 2026 edition is projected to draw more than 45,000 participants from over 120 economies, covering finance, AI, digital assets and international expansion.
