Alphabet Q3: Cloud more than doubles but Search and YouTube ads fall short
Alphabet's Q3: Cloud revenue surges 103% beating estimates, but Search and YouTube ads miss forecasts; EPS falls on investment losses.
SpaceX unlocked more than $200 billion of insider stock this month; further releases through July 2027 total over $1.2 trillion.
The flow of SpaceX stock onto the market is already at record levels, and it is expected to get heavier still in the eight months ahead.
The company hit a fresh high this month by lifting sale curbs on more than $200 billion of insider stock; unlocks across the rocket, satellite, AI and social media conglomerate are expected to pass $1 trillion before long.
An unlock lifts sale restrictions on existing shares without creating any new stock or funnelling fresh cash into the business.
Because most of the shares being unlocked were already counted in SpaceX’s market value while still locked, a market-cap chart of SPCX — the firm’s Nasdaq-listed common stock — usually will not show sudden jumps.
This is not dilution from a brand-new supply of shares; unlocks let holders sell from a supply that was already known and fixed in advance.
Protos has assembled an 11-month timeline of SpaceX unlocks stretching from August this year through the end of the second quarter in June 2027, including the early-July 2027 releases that kick in right after that Q2 report.
Around $144 billion was unlocked in August 2026, $106 billion in September and $308 billion in October. The eight releases completed so far total roughly $559 billion.
For comparison, SpaceX’s base IPO raised just $75 billion, meaning insider unlocks over the last three months have given access to more than seven times that initial figure.
October will stay the biggest unlock month in the company’s history for about eight months. More precisely, the 366-day lockup on Elon Musk’s stake ends on June 12, 2027, releasing 6.4 billion shares, along with 352 million shares owned by other insiders.
Even if SpaceX’s share price stays flat at today’s $143, the June unlocks will be worth over $900 billion. Musk’s block by itself will be three times the size of October’s all-time record.
Confusion surrounds SpaceX’s next share unlock
From today onward, unlocks at SpaceX through July 2027 total more than $1.2 trillion.
The first date on the calendar is December 8, when roughly $114 billion of stock — 797.6 million shares — is due to be unlocked.
Inside that total sit 455.8 million shares that were not released in August 2026 because the stock did not clear a required price level.
There is no automatic rise in selling pressure on the order book when shares are unlocked; the only effect is that owners are free to decide whether to sell.
There is also a chance that upcoming unlocks will be changed or pushed back. Those forecast dates can move at any moment if shareholders or SpaceX’s board of directors decide differently.
