Trump Labels 'Artificial Intelligence' Users as Enemies

Trump declares using 'artificial intelligence' makes one an enemy, but the White House still uses the term.

President Donald Trump has stated that using the term "artificial intelligence" (AI) rather than "super intelligence" makes one an enemy. He provided no further explanation, yet the White House continues to employ the older phrase.

A September 29 executive order directed federal agencies to adopt "super intelligence," abbreviated as SI. That order lacks any penalty and does not apply to private-sector entities.

Does the White House Comply With Its Own Directive?

"The White House considers anyone that uses the term, 'Artificial Intelligence,' as opposed to the highly accepted new and more accurate term, 'Super Intelligence,' THE ENEMY!"

Donald J. Trump, President of the United States, in a post on Truth Social

The White House science office website, however, still references artificial intelligence. Meanwhile, Truth Social's own search feature carries the label Truth Search AI.

Super intelligence traditionally describes a theoretical system able to surpass human thinking, a nuanced concept, and this rebranding appears to muddy that distinction.

Elon Musk, by contrast, is embracing the new terminology. Musk said on X on October 4 that SpaceXAI, the SpaceX division responsible for the Grok chatbot, will become SpaceXSI.

The division assumed the SpaceXAI name in July after SpaceX absorbed xAI. The proposed change would occur within three months, with Musk offering no specific timeline.

Was There Profit From the .si Surge?

The abbreviation SI also corresponds to .si, Slovenia's internet domain extension, where first lady Melania Trump was born. Slovenia's registry recorded 46,066 new .si domains in September.

Crypto investor Adam Cochran alleged on X that Trump associates gained from early registrations. BeInCrypto reported the insider claims.

Trump suggested renaming AI via a Truth Social poll on September 19. Cybersecurity firm Netcraft monitored .si registrations at registrar Dynadot between that poll and his United Nations address. Just over half were listed for resale.

No public evidence links purchasers to Trump or his family. A presidential phrase has now affected domain markets and corporate identity. No regulation mandates private companies to comply, and OpenAI and Anthropic continue using the older term.
