Leon Wankum says real estate's monetary premium is moving to Bitcoin, with a $1,000 trillion base case and $1 million by the late 2030s.
Real estate, the world’s largest asset class, is valued at $300–500 trillion, and Leon Wankum expects Bitcoin to do more than overtake it — he expects it to outgrow the sector. A real estate operator and the author of Digital Real Estate, Wankum speaks with Spencer Nichols on the Bitcoin Magazine Podcast. On the program, he explains how real estate only began functioning as money after 1971, why 80–90% of its value is monetary premium rather than utility, and why that premium is shifting toward Bitcoin just as information shifted to the internet. He also presents a base case of $1,000 trillion for Bitcoin, a route to $1 million by the late 2030s, and his case that renting while buying Bitcoin is now the financially smarter move.
The episode is hosted by Spencer Nichols of Bitcoin Magazine, and the guest is Leon Wankum, author of Digital Real Estate.
