Visa's Annual Stablecoin Settlement Hits $25 Billion, Up 10x
Visa CEO Ryan McInerney said the company's stablecoin settlement run rate reached $25 billion annually, up 10x from last year, with five stablecoins supported.
Ethereum clawed back some losses after US-Iran tensions eased, with traders awaiting Wednesday's US CPI report for direction.
FUNDAMENTAL PICTURE
Macro and geopolitical forces have chiefly shaped Ether's latest price swings, with moves in US Treasury yields, the dollar and risk appetite doing much of the work.
The threat of escalation between the US and Iran set off a broad crypto selloff, though part of the decline was clawed back after Trump said he would not strike Iran before the November elections. Negotiations between the two sides continue with an eye to reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
Lower Treasury yields and a softer dollar could give prices some near-term support, but those moves would need real fundamental underpinning. That keeps US-Iran developments and Wednesday's CPI report at the center of attention.
If talks achieve a breakthrough, Ethereum would benefit as concerns over inflation and a rate hike ease, while another flare-up would probably produce a fresh selloff. On the CPI, an above-forecast core reading could put an October rate increase back in play and hurt crypto. A soft release, conversely, would likely lift Ether as Treasury yields and the dollar fall.
ETHEREUM TECHNICAL VIEW – DAILY
On the daily timeframe, Ethereum has slipped below the major upward trendline and stretched its slide, with sellers pressing toward the next major trendline. If that line comes into range, buyers are expected to step in, placing their stop below it, in hopes of a rally to 3,400. Sellers, meanwhile, are looking for a break below the trendline to build bearish positions and target 1,900 next.
ETHEREUM TECHNICAL VIEW – 4 HOUR
The 2,630 region marks resistance on the 4-hour timeframe, and a descending trendline there adds confluence. Should the market reach that zone, sellers are expected to engage, with stops above resistance, and position for a drop toward the major upward trendline. Buyers, meanwhile, want a break higher to build bullish exposure, targeting 3,000 first and 3,400 next.
ETHEREUM TECHNICAL VIEW – 1 HOUR
A minor upward trendline is guiding the current rebound on the 1-hour timeframe. Buyers are likely to defend that trendline, with risk defined below it, as they press toward the 2,630 resistance. Sellers, meanwhile, want to see price break lower so they can join in and target a drop to the major upward trendline. Today's average daily range is part of the technical setup.
