Investor Who Foresaw AI Boom Predicts Bitcoin Crash to $57,000

Veteran investor Jason Calacanis predicts Bitcoin will fall to $57,000 within 12 months, saying it will never reach a new all-time high.

Three years ago, Jason Calacanis told crypto founders to leave their industry and focus on AI stocks. Now the prominent Silicon Valley investor has a fresh warning: offload Bitcoin before it plunges once more.

On Tuesday, Calacanis said that Bitcoin would drop to $57,000 within 12 months, nearly 29% below its $79,774 price at the time.

He further claimed that Bitcoin would never reach a new all-time high.

“A brutal year for Bitcoin is just getting started,” he wrote.

His AI Forecast Proved Accurate

Calacanis is known for identifying tech trends early. He backed Uber and Robinhood before they became household names, and co-hosts the popular All-In podcast.

His June 2023 suggestion to pivot to AI turned out to be well-timed.

A $10,000 investment in Nvidia on that day would now be worth approximately $56,100. Bitcoin would have returned around $30,100.

Yet his record needs context. Semiconductor stocks broadly performed similarly to Bitcoin over that period. Calacanis also advised buying Bitcoin directly in September 2025.

Is the Market Backing His $57,000 Prediction?

Calacanis argues that Bitcoin is losing investor interest as AI provides more economic value.

“Just sell and shift from Bitcoin to Super Intelligence,” he argued, describing Bitcoin as a “dead network.”

There is cause for worry. Bitcoin has declined about 37% since its October 2025 high of around $126,200.

On October 22–23, US spot Bitcoin ETFs saw outflows of roughly $773 million.

Glassnode estimates that those funds bought their Bitcoin at an average cost near $81,500, putting them under pressure at current levels.

However, ETF inflows bounced back by roughly $110 million on October 26. So far, the data has not confirmed a sustained institutional sell-off.

Could AI Stocks Be Replacing Bitcoin?

The divergence in performance is notable. In the past year, semiconductor shares rose about 62% while Bitcoin fell 30%.

However, Bitcoin still moves in tandem with tech stocks. Its 90-day correlation with the Nasdaq was 0.38 as of October 25, implying both assets can decline when investors shy away from risk.

Even Calacanis’s own AI-related crypto investment, Bittensor (TAO), has dropped about 40% over the past year.

At the same time, Galaxy Digital’s Alex Thorn thinks Bitcoin hit its low in June and may rebound toward $125,000 as long-term selling eases.

His optimistic view would be undermined if Bitcoin remains below roughly $76,540. The next few weeks will be crucial in assessing whether Calacanis’s crash prediction holds true.
